Cookie Policy

How we use cookies and similar technologies.

Last updated: 2026-04-24

This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies (including browser local storage) on nudgeworks.app (the marketing site) and web.nudgeworks.app (the Nudge web app).

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help websites remember preferences and keep you signed in. We also use browser local storage for similar purposes where cookies aren't required.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the Service to work and cannot be disabled. They do not track you across sites and expire when you sign out or clear your browser data.

  • sb-<project>-auth-token — authentication session token set by Supabase. The token may be split across numbered chunks (-0, -1, …) when it exceeds the per-cookie size limit.
  • nudge_active_space — remembers which of your spaces (household, café, team, etc.) you last switched to, so you land in the right one when you return.
  • nudge_ref — if you arrive via an ambassador referral link, we store the referral handle for up to 30 days so credit can be applied when you sign up.

3. Functional cookies

These improve your experience by remembering preferences.

  • NEXT_LOCALE — your language preference (set when you change language in Settings).

4. Local storage

We also use browser local storage (not cookies) for a few things that don't need to be sent to the server:

  • cookie-consent — whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies on the marketing site.
  • theme — light or dark mode preference on the marketing site and web app.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics on the marketing site (nudgeworks.app) to understand visit patterns, identify technical issues, and improve the experience. Analytics storage is only activated after you accept cookieson the banner — if you decline or close it, no analytics cookies are set. The product web app (web.nudgeworks.app) does not load Google Analytics.

Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_<stream> to help distinguish unique visitors and count sessions. See Google's cookie policy for details.

6. What we don't use

  • No advertising cookies
  • No third-party tracking pixels (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • No cross-site profiling for targeted ads
  • No session replay or heatmap tools

7. Managing cookies

You can manage cookies in your browser settings (block, delete, or limit them). You can also clear local storage for this site from the same place. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and may prevent the Service from working. Analytics consent can be changed at any time by clearing the cookie-consent entry in your browser; the banner will reappear on your next visit.
